FTM 315 - Fashion Product Design

In FTM 317 Fashion Product Design, I learned how to develop fashion apparel from concept to final garment. The course covered fabric selection, flat pattern development, and pattern engineering, with a focus on body measurements, shape, comfort, and fit. I refined my technical skills through hands-on projects and brought my design ideas to life.

This project focused on designing an inclusive garment for women with sensory sensitivities or autism. The goal was to create a comfortable and functional piece using soft, breathable jersey knit fabric with seamless construction, adjustable compression, and a loose fit. Through multiple prototypes, adjustments were made to improve fit, bow placement, and overall construction. The final garment balanced aesthetic appeal with sensory-friendly features, ensuring both style and comfort.
